Biography

Mr. Cole Cannon, Esq. loves business first and the law second. The law is a means to achieve his clients’ business needs. Mr. Cannon founded Cannon Law Group, PLLC, in the dead of the recession in 2008 on the premise an attorney’s job is to provide value, not just bill hours. Mission accomplished. For over a decade, Cannon Law has steadily provided real value to its clients as they navigate litigation, mergers, acquisitions, employment matters, non-competes, marketing campaigns, and all forms of business negotiations.

Mr. Cannon is a negotiator at heart, not the soft type, but the “speak softly and carry a big stick” type that Teddy Roosevelt preached about. Mr. Cannon is ready to tackle his clients’ hard problems, the kind of issues people hate to think about but need to address. Mr. Cannon is a member of the faculty at the University of Utah, where he teaches Honors students in professional negotiations, dispute resolutions, and inter-personal negotiation. Mr. Cannon’s negotiation prowess has saved (and made) his clients millions of dollars and is backed up by a long history of successful trials and appeals. Mr. Cannon is not afraid to go to court and fight battles when necessary. As a businessman himself, Mr. Cannon is committed to helping his clients’ businesses reach their highest potential. Mr. Cannon has represented a range of clients from the tech start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, to famous actors and social media talent, in a multiplicity of matters ranging from corporate formation to international trade agreements. Mr. Cannon is able to serve these various needs by the team he has built around him at Cannon Law.

Mr. Cannon holds degrees in political science, economics, public policy, law, and masters of laws in taxation from the University of Utah, University of Southern California, and the University of San Diego. Though Mr. Cannon is a proud alumnus of each of these schools, his true resume is better accentuated by his reputation among his clients. Mr. Cannon serves on the National Honors Advisory Board of Directors of the University of Utah. Over the years, Mr. Cannon has made several television, radio, seminar, and news appearances regarding high profile cases and instruction in law.

Mr. Cannon enjoys outrageous adventures with his lovely wife and six kids. Mr. Cannon has been to 61 countries and regretted none of them. Mr. Cannon’s mantra can well be summarized by the following adage: “Live like you’ll die tomorrow, learn like you’ll live forever.”
